  4. Pull your knees up to your chest: Sitting down and pulling your knees up to your chest can help to relax your diaphragm muscles and stop hiccups.

  5. Have someone scare you: Although this might sound a little extreme, having someone suddenly scare you can stimulate the vagus nerve and help to stop hiccups.

  6. Try swallowing a teaspoon of sugar: Swallowing a teaspoon of sugar can help to stimulate the vagus nerve and stop hiccups.

  7. Massage your carotid arteries: Gently massaging your carotid arteries (located on either side of your neck) can help to stimulate the vagus nerve and stop hiccups.

If your hiccups persist for more than a few hours or are accompanied by other symptoms such as chest pain, difficulty breathing or vomiting, seek medical attention immediately.
